DEERING BAY YACHT & COUNTRY CLUB HOSTS TOURNAMENT BENEFITING BREAST CANCER RESEARCH
Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club in Coral Gables, Florida, recently hosted the seventh annual Barbara Gelber Golf Tournament to benefit Cancer Link at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Sponsored by the Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club Women’s Golf Association, the event was held in mid-February and raised more than $27,000 for breast cancer research.
Played on Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club’s Arnold Palmer Signature golf course located on the southern tip of scenic Coral Gables on the shores of Biscayne Bay, the tournament featured 96 golfers, including former University of Miami and NFL football star, Ed Reed. Over its seven years, the Barbara Gelber Golf Tournament has raised more than $150,000 for breast cancer research.
Founded in 1987, Cancer Link is a volunteer organization dedicated to the eradication of breast cancer through education, early detection and community outreach at The Braman Family Breast Cancer Institute at Sylvester.
