The Delaware State Golf Association is sponsoring a statewide Virtual Pro-Am for its more than 8,000 members with all proceeds benefiting junior golf programs in Delaware. Using TDJ Golf’s virtual pro-am mobile app, the Pro-Am will coincide with this year’s PGA ChampionshipTM being contested August 6th– 9th.
The contest will be hosted within the TDJ Golf mobile app, one of Golf Digest’sTM Top 7 Mobile Apps from the 2019 PGA Show. Golfers select their partners within the app, play a round of golf at their favorite Delaware golf course, enter their on-course golf scores, sit-back and watch their team live on the TDJ Golf leaderboards.
“We are continually looking for new ways to engage our members through our competitions”, says Laura Heien, Executive Director of the Delaware State Golf Association. “The TDJ Golf platform allows us to increase participation in competitions, drive more rounds at our member clubs and raise additional funds for our charitable causes”.
The digital nature of TDJ Golf’s Virtual Pro-Ams can help organizations drive more than a 10-fold increase in participation compared to current in-person events. These events have lower entry fees and can attract a more diverse group of players who do not regularly play in state-wide competitions.
“We are really excited about the future of virtual pro-ams” says Tony Laudato, CEO of TDJ Golf. “Golfers are looking for new and different ways to engage with the game they love. For the first time, golfers can play along with their favorite pros and turn their typical rounds of golf into a statewide championship”.
Organizations who are interested in hosting a Virtual Pro Am, should contact TDJ Golf through their website at http://www.tdjgolf.com/.
