Roskilde, Denmark — A new chapter in golf history was written on Saturday when Denmark crowned the inaugural national champions of indoor golf at the NORM Invest Divisionen — the world’s first official national team championship played entirely on golf simulators.
The tournament was created and organised on private initiative by Claus Møldrup, investor and co-owner of YARDS Group, which operates YARDS Urban Golf in Valby, Copenhagen.
Aalborg Golf Club claimed the men’s title with an unbeaten record throughout the entire season. Kokkedal Golf Club won the women’s championship 8-4 over Ryder Cup Captain Thomas Bjorn’s home club, Silkeborg, while Dragør Golf Club secured the youth title with a commanding 9-3 victory over Furesø.
The tournament brought together 19 teams from 14 of Denmark’s top elite golf clubs, with approximately 130 players, captains and spectators gathered for finals day in Roskilde.
The format mirrors Denmark’s outdoor club league structure and is the first of its kind globally. Interest has been growing steadily, with multiple clubs already registering for next year. An expanded edition is planned for winter 2026/2027 where the Danish Golf Union will add additional divisions, pool stages, and formats adapted to simulator facilities around Denmark.
