DAYTON OH – A 4-person golf cart doesn’t make any sense at all. No one would seriously propose that and no golf course would ever do it. It would force 3 people to sit and wait while the 4th lines up his shot, selects a club, takes a few practice swings, hits his shot, wipes his club off, puts it back in the bag, and sits back down. Then rinse-and-repeat 3 more times. That would be, well, stupid.
Pardon my bluntness. But C’MON MAN!!!
Is the traditional 2-person golf cart better? Well, it still requires 1 golfer per cart to sit and wait half the time. So I guess that would be “half as stupid!” That still doesn’t make sense. Yet, it is the norm that we have accepted because original golf carts were 2-person devices and they haven’t changed in almost 100 years! Said another way, if the norm was 1 person per cart, no golf course in their right mind would ever consider buying and renting 2-person carts.
But here we are in 2024. There is universal agreement that the golf industry needs to find ways to speed up the game in order to attract new golfers and keep this game that we all love affordable for average people. No one wants it to go back to an elite-only sport.
That is what inspired the single-rider movement a few years ago…stand-up boards with motors, fat tire scooters, 3-wheeled trikes, and many other attempted designs. But they were all too expensive, so they haven’t delivered on the promise of speeding up the game. Only a few golf courses have them, and they are so expensive that they charge more than renting a cart. That formula doesn’t work.
Enter the Divnick Golf Ebike…a step-thru fat-tire turf-friendly ebike designed from the ground-up for golf. Because ebikes are proliferating around the world, the Golf Ebike is half the cost of other single rider devices. It has many additional advantages the other single-rider devices have never had such as 7 levels of intelligent pedal-assist, or it can be ridden with all throttle like a scooter. You don’t have to pedal if you don’t want to. So it provides as much, or as little, exercise as you want. But when you do pedal, it is smooth rotational motion that is easier on the body which is important to older golfers…the largest segment of all golfers.
The patent pending golf bag carrier hooks on the side of the rear rack and tilts out into a rock-solid kick stand, even on sloping ground. The bike includes a sand bottle holder and an extra wide comfortable suspension seat. It has dual hydraulic disk brakes and a flashing brake light in case someone is following closely behind. The frame is super heavy duty with a welded rear rack for an ultra-durable cargo-like design.
At the PGA Show, visitors had a hard time handling the other single rider devices with some falling or crashing into the fence, even though none of them even had a bag of clubs loaded. But attendees hopped on the Golf Ebikes with a full bag of clubs on the side and rode them all around the arena without a hint of incident. They are easy to ride and very safe.
Steve Divnick, the inventor, adds, “One of the most often-asked questions is whether or not the weight of the bag on the side throws off the balance. But the amazing thing is that our brain automatically compensates for it, so you can’t feel the weight on the side. It is similar to when you were young and pushed off with your left foot on the pedal. You could either swing your leg over or stand with all your weight on the pedal, but you never had to think about balance. That automatic reality is what makes having the bag on the side where it is also the kick stand so cool.”
For consumers, the quick-attach bag carrier can be removed in 2 seconds without any pins or bolts to loosen. For golf courses, it is locked on. The powerful ebike also has an industry-bright headlight and rear turn signals for those who want to ride it to-and-from the golf course or for other general riding on the road, whether in bright daylight or evening rides back home. No special license is required…bicycle rules apply.
And to top it all off, the frame folds up so you can transport it in your trunk! Yet it is rugged enough for golf course rental.
Divnick introduced it at this year’s PGA Show in Orlando to great fanfare. “Riding it around the demo day track and demonstrating how the bag carrier becomes the kick stand got a lot of attention and resulted in several golf courses ordering bikes for their courses.” The bikes are inexpensive enough that the courses don’t have to charge more than a cart fee, although some do plan to offer a “first group of the day 4-bike premium package” where their golfers can play in about 2 hours, without rushing…just eliminating the sitting and waiting, and no one in front of them.
Divnick continues, “As part of our first year introduction, we are giving them away free as Hole-In-One prizes for charity golf outings throughout the Lower 48 States. There is no cost or insurance for the charities, so we hope those reading this will share this opportunity with their Outing Planners.”

It has a telescopic shaft, so it collapses down to 18 inches for travel. He has added several other telescopic shafts over the years, including the 5-Foot long BIG STIK which is the “World Longest Production Driver” and is completely illegal. It is most-often used as an exhibition club for fund raising at charity golf outings. He has built 4-headed drivers, 9-Foot putters, and other unique clubs for trick shot performers, movies, and television shows. He has been referred to as, “The Most Interesting Man In Golf” because of his innovations. Visit www.DivnickGolf.com to see the full line of unique golf clubs.
