Premium brand sponsors event plus two home favourites as brand ambassadors
Italian golf fashion brand Duca del Cosma is sponsoring the Dutch Open for a fourth consecutive time as one of Europe’s oldest golf tournaments gets under way at the Bernardus links course in Cromvoirt from tomorrow.
The Dutch-based brand continues as the official footwear and clothing supplier to the popular tournament, providing golf shoes and branded apparel to more than 1,500 officials and volunteers in the 102nd edition of the prestigious event to be held in The Netherlands.
The brand’s extensive involvement in the event began in 2018 and includes prominent on-course displays, as well as a running a busy retail operation throughout tournament week.
Featuring as Duca del Cosma Brand Ambassadors at this year’s event will be local favourites Joost Luiten – the two-time Dutch Open champion who last won the title in 2016 – and recently signed Daan Huizing. Both players will be wearing the brand’s premium handcrafted golf shoes and clothing during the DP World Tour event that was cancelled last year.
“Duca del Cosma is proud to have two Dutch players representing the brand at such a long-standing Tour event and we look forward to seeing Daan perform well and Joost get into contention to win a third national title on home soil,” said Chairman Frank van Wezel. “Our involvement in the event has helped to put Duca del Cosma firmly on Europe’s golfing map and we intend to sign a number of other world-class Tour players to raise the brand profile further on a global basis in the near future,” he added.
Duca del Cosma was founded in Italy in 2006 by Baldovino Mattiazzo, who still designs the distinctive collections for men and women golfers. Since 2016, the company has been reinvigorated by Frank van Wezel and his wife Caroline. This year, global sales of its award-winning golf shoes have reached record levels in leading markets such as the UK, Germany and the USA.
