(LONDONDERRY, NH) – ECCO – a leading manufacturer of innovative footwear – announces that ECCO® GOLF ambassador, Minjee Lee, captured her maiden Ladies European Tour title on Friday with a clutch 20-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole at the Omega Dubai Moonlight Classic.
Wearing ECCO BIOM® G3, the 24-year-old Australian fired rounds of 72 and 65 to head into the final round within striking distance of the lead. After a steady start, Lee caught fire on the back-nine to card a round of 69 and force her way into a playoff which she closed out at the very first attempt.
“This year has been tough, but this is a nice way to close it out,” says Lee. “I’ve really enjoyed the format and everything about the week, my second time playing night golf was certainly memorable.”
Lee came into the week as the highest ranked player in the field and left Dubai on top, with her first European Tour victory, her eighth professional title and the iconic ‘coffee pot inspired’ trophy in tow.
“This victory further cements Minjee’s position as a truly world-class player,” says Jesper Thuen, General Manager, ECCO GOLF USA. “Despite what has been a very challenging year, Minjee has come back fighting and we look forward to supporting her as she continues to perform at the very pinnacle of the game.”
Lee competed in Dubai wearing women’s ECCO BIOM® G3, a design which features hard-wearing ECCO YAK leather uppers and a waterproof GORE-TEX® construction that keeps feet dry and comfortable in all conditions.
The shoe is also highlighted by exceptional support and comfort via ECCO GOLF’s renowned BIOM® NATURAL MOTION® last that combines low-to-the-ground stability with a glove-like fit that is built for natural motion.
ECCO GOLF shoes are worn in competition around the world by Henrik Stenson, Thomas Bjørn, Fred Couples, Erik van Rooyen, Doc Redman, Lydia Ko, Minjee Lee and Caroline Masson, among others.
