ONTARIO, CA —- The Southern California PGA Section is pleased to announce the hiring of Ed Winiecki, PGA, CCM, as the new Assistant Executive Director of the SCPGA Section.
“On behalf of the Southern California PGA Board of Directors and Staff, we are thrilled to have Ed join our team of dedicated professionals working to serve our membership,” said SCPGA Executive Director / CEO Nikki Gatch, PGA. Ed brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and respect of his peers to our team, and I am looking forward to working closer with him as we continue to provide outstanding programs and services to our membership. Ed’s primary responsibilities will include Business Development, Liaison to our Chapters and Committees, and overall operational support.”
Winiecki most recently served as the Career Consultant for the PGA of America for Southern California. No stranger to Southern California, Winiecki spent time during the ’90s and 2000s working at various Section facilities, serving in many different capacities, from Assistant Golf Professional, Head Golf Professional, Director of Golf, General Manager, Regional Manager, and Executive Director for the PGA TOUR-Nationwide TOUR. From 2004-11, Winiecki served the Southern California Section as a Board Member. He also served on the San Diego Chapter Board and is a Past President of the Inland Empire Chapter.
Winiecki also worked in the Northern California PGA Section, where he served on the Board of Directors for seven years, including as Vice President. Winiecki has the great honor of being selected as the Golf Professional of the Year in both the Northern California (2017) and Southern California Sections (2010), becoming the only PGA Member to receive that honor in two separate Sections within the PGA of America.
Winiecki is also a Certified Club Manager with the Club Management Association of America and is currently working towards his CCE status.
In addition to having had the opportunity to work at many high-end private clubs, Winiecki also worked for Troon, Kemper Sports, Greenway Golf, OB Sports, and ClubCorp/Invited. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Southern California PGA.
Ed will officially begin his new role on September 30.
