Season Begins on Sunday, Dec. 27
BRISTOL, Conn., and ORLANDO, Fla. — ESPN and TMRW Sports today announced a multiyear extension of their U.S. media rights agreement for TGL presented by SoFi, the primetime team golf league. TGL’s 2027 season will open on Sunday, Dec. 27, featuring seven teams of top PGA Tour players competing at the award-winning SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. ESPN has served as TGL’s U.S. media home since the league’s debut and will continue as the league’s domestic media rights partner under the extended agreement. The announcement was made by Rosalyn Durant, executive vice president, programming and acquisitions, ESPN, and Rufus Hack, president, golf, TMRW Sports.
“TGL has given golf something genuinely new, with top PGA Tour players competing in a fast-paced, made-forprimetime team format that puts fans closer to the action than ever before,” said Durant. “Our extended agreement ensures we will continue to showcase the best players in the game and continue the momentum of the league’s first two seasons together.”
“ESPN has been the ultimate partner in helping establish TGL, combining unparalleled promotion, reach and sports presentation,” said Hack. “We believe deeply in the power of partnerships, and this extension reflects our shared ambition to take TGL to new levels while continuing to elevate the competition, storytelling and fan experience. The addition of Motor City Golf Club this season builds on that momentum, bringing a great sports city and passionate fan base into TGL as we continue to grow the league.”
TGL has expanded golf’s audience through its innovative format, ESPN’s reach and the unique atmosphere and technology of SoFi Center, helping introduce the sport to younger fans. Additionally, more than 30% of TGL viewers report that they are not regular viewers of other professional golf. The league’s distinctive broadcast experience combines advanced technology and live-action golf in a team competition featuring many of the PGA Tour’s biggest stars. Built for primetime inside SoFi Center, TGL brings arena energy and unprecedented player access to golf, while ESPN creates new opportunities to connect the sport with the next generation of fans.
