Top Senior Amateurs Ready for Premier 54-Hole Competition

Estero, Florida – Estero Country Club proudly announces the return of the Estero Senior Amateur Invitational, now in its second year, taking place from April 28 to May 1, 2025. This prestigious event welcomes an elite field of senior amateur golfers from across the country, competing across four age divisions: Senior (55–64), Super Senior (65–69), Legends (70–74), and Grand Masters (75+).

Last year’s inaugural tournament set a high standard with Trent Gregory posting a 1-under par total score over the demanding, spectacularly-manicured par 72 Estero Country Club course.

“Our goal is to provide a championship level experience that honors the spirit and skill of senior amateur golf,” said Andrew Plesz, PGA Head Golf Professional at Estero Country Club. “We’re proud to build on last year’s success and continue elevating this event.”

The field is capped at 96 players and there is no cut over the three-days of competition. Demand for this year’s event has soared, with the tournament oversubscribed by fifty percent, which is clear testament to its growing reputation and competitive excellence.

“I was impressed with last year’s event,” said Patrick Stayer. “It was first-rate and compares well to the best senior amateur events I play every year.”

The Estero Senior Invitational will feature top-tier talent again, including notable names such as John Armstrong, winner of the 2017 Golfweek U.S. Super Senior National Championship and Jim Starnes, Golfweek 2024 Super Senior Player of the Year. This year’s tournament includes competitors representing 15 states and Canada. The states include Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee and Texas.

Estero Country Club offers a premier golfing experience in Southwest Florida. It combines a 7,072-yard,18-hole Gordon Lewis-designed championship course with exceptional amenities and a welcoming community atmosphere. Located in the heart of Estero, the Club was established in 1986.
