Add nearly 100 golf courses to your list of reasons to visit the Czech Republic
New York, N.Y. — Golfers from North America (and the world) should add the Czech Republic to their future travel plans. The Czech Republic offers no less than Ninety-seven golf courses spread across eight Czech regions. The natural and undulating landscapes of the terrain provide countless panoramic vistas, with a number of courses having hosted numerous European PGA Tour and LPGA Tour Events.
The Czech capital of Prague offers easy access to 20+ courses in the surrounding Central Bohemian region including:
- the new PGA National Oaks, named Best Golf Course – Europe 2020 by the World Golf Awards in its first year of operation
- The Prague City Golf Club Zbraslav, designed by 3-time PGA Tour winner and Czech native Alex Čejka
- Albatross Golf Resort, a Top 100 European Golf Course and home to Czech Masters European Tour
- Panorama Golf Resort – Editor’s Choice, Best Golf Resorts in Continental Europe
Golfers are also known to appreciate a quality gastronomy and beverage scene. The Czech Republic is a meat lover’s paradise with local dishes centered on pork, beef, and chicken. Local delicacies also include goose, duck, rabbit, venison, and a growing vegan and vegetarian dining scene.
For an autumn visit, head to the region of South Moravia, with four resorts and 11 golf courses to choose from. This region also produces 95% of Czech wines (including fall wine festivals), which are currently gaining recognition across Europe. Sounds like a perfect chance to toast to your personal best at the end of the day.
The Czech Republic is also a well-known destination for beer lovers. The city of Pilsen, just south of Prague, created the pilsner lager in the 19th century, while the town of České Budějovice is home of the original European-style Budweiser (known as Budvar).
A golf trip can open the door to so much that the Czech Republic has to offer, from 16 of the world’s 1,000 UNESCO world heritage sights to Gothic cathedrals and wellness experiences with beer and wine baths. Pack your clubs and prepare to be amazed.
