“A Fair Handicap System!”
This past July, I played at my home course in Wisconsin and shot a 4-under par 69. That day, my home course was in great shape with temperatures in the 70’s, low humidity, sunny skies and light 5-10 mph winds. An ideal day of golf!
This past October, I also played at my home course in Wisconsin and shot the same 4-under par 69. This time in October, the greens & fairways had just been aerated, the temperature was 43 degrees with a rain/snow mix all day, cloudy skies and blustery 20-30 mph winds.
So why was I out there playing?
As the best “cold weather” player in the world, I know how to play in bad conditions and I love to play in bad conditions. I’ve scored more than 100 sub-par rounds in sub-freezing temperatures.
What I don’t get is why my round of 69 in July, should count the same for my handicap as my incredible 69 round in October under those extreme conditions.
So, I’ve come up with “The Stewart Factor”!
The Stewart Factor is a supplement to the handicap scoring system to account for factors such as excessive hot/cold temperatures, humidity, winds, rain and course/environmental conditions. I expect it will make the game far more fair for everyone, no matter what your handicap or the conditions.
Watch for “The Stewart Factor” coming soon.
