Fenway Sports Group Expands Sports Portfolio With Acquisition of WTGL Team

August 10, 2026

Boston Common Golf Represents Boston and New England as WTGL’s Fifth Team for Inaugural Season

BOSTON – TMRW Sports and Fenway Sports Group (FSG), a global sports, media, entertainment, and real estate company, today announced that FSG has acquired a team in WTGL, the new women’sprofessional golf league created in partnership with the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA).

The team will compete as Boston Common Golf, representing Boston and New England as one of WTGL’s five inaugural teams and extending a brand that has built a passionate following since its launch in 2023.

The investment marks FSG’s first team ownership position in women’s professional golf, building on the organization’s commitment to women’s golf, which began in 2023 when Fenway Sports Management (FSM) partnered with the LPGA to help grow the Tour’s sponsorship and marketing business. FSG was also one of the original six ownership groups of TGL presented by SoFi and an early investor in TMRW Sports, the parent company of both WTGL and TGL.

“At FSG, we’ve always believed in investing early in ideas with the potential to grow and evolve the sports landscape,” said Linda Henry, FSG partner and CEO of Boston Globe Media. “Our investment in TMRW Sports and partnership with the LPGA have only reinforced our confidence in the future of women’s golf. WTGL is a natural next step, and we’re proud to bring Boston Common Golf to the league and another world-class team to New England fans.”

Beyond competition, the WTGL team will build on Common Ground, Boston Common Golf’s community platform dedicated to expanding access to golf across New England, with a focus on creating more opportunities for girls and women to discover and grow in the game.

“Boston Common Golf’s success off the course is measured in the strength of our corporate partnerships, the way fans across New England and beyond have embraced this team and its brand, and community programming that is bringing more young people into the game,” said Boston Common Golf President and CEO Mark Lev. “Those relationships with our partners, our fans, and our communities give this new team a strong foundation, and we look forward to building on that with our WTGL team.”

WTGL will debut this fall at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., featuring a team match-play format built around many of the world’s top LPGA Tour players. The league’s current roster includes 14 announced players, including six of the world’s top 13, representing a combined 95 LPGA Tour victories. Additional players will be announced ahead of the inaugural season.

“Fenway Sports Group has been a TMRW Sports partner from the beginning and understands what it takes to build an enduring team brand in one of the world’s most passionate sports markets,” said Mike McCarley, founder and CEO of TMRW Sports. “Boston Common Golf brings an established identity, a passionate fan base and an ownership group with a record of growing iconic sports properties. Adding FSG and Boston Common Golf strengthens WTGL as we build a premier platform for women’s team golf in partnership with the LPGA.”

WTGL builds on the momentum of TGL, which debuted in 2025 and now reaches fans in more than 150 countries and territories. The team’s roster and official launch plans will be announced in the coming weeks. For more information about WTGL and Boston Common Golf, visit WTGLGolf.com.

Each ownership group also owns a team in TGL, bringing established sports and business experience to WTGL.
