Largest U.S. Five Iron location brings Jim McLean Golf School instruction, Trackman technology, leagues, fittings, and year-round golf to South Florida
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Five Iron Golf officially celebrated the grand opening of its new Coral Gables flagship, marking the brand’s entry into Florida and introducing its largest U.S. location to date.
The 30,000-square-foot venue welcomed golfers, local leaders, media, and community members to experience Five Iron’s combination of technology-driven practice, instruction, competition, and entertainment. Located at The Plaza Coral Gables, the flagship features 12 Trackman-powered simulators, instruction affiliated with the Jim McLean Golf School, custom club fitting experiences powered by Callaway Tour Fitting, league play, memberships, and year-round access to some of golf’s most iconic courses.
“Florida has long been one of the most important golf markets in the country, making Coral Gables a natural fit for Five Iron’s continued growth,” said Jared Solomon, Co-Founder and CEO of Five Iron Golf. “We’re excited to bring a new way to experience the game to South Florida—one that combines serious game improvement, technology, instruction, and community in a format that makes golf more accessible and engaging for everyone.”
At the center of the facility are 12 Trackman simulators equipped with advanced ball-tracking technology, multi-angle swing capture, and performance analytics. Golfers can practice, take lessons, compete in leagues, play world-famous courses, participate in tournaments, or enjoy casual rounds year-round regardless of weather conditions.
Instruction is delivered through instructors affiliated with the Jim McLean Golf School, one of the most respected coaching organizations in the game. Programming includes private lessons, junior development, clinics, Swing Evaluations, and custom club fitting experiences powered by the same data-driven approach that defines Five Iron’s instructional offering. Using launch monitor technology and detailed performance analysis, golfers can identify the equipment configurations best suited to their swing and playing style.
“We’ve seen tremendous demand for flexible, technology-enabled golf experiences that complement traditional golf rather than replace it,” said Peter McCormick, owner and developer of Five Iron Golf Coral Gables. “The response from the community during opening week reinforced what we believed from the beginning—that golfers are looking for more ways to practice, improve, compete, and spend time around the game.”
The grand opening celebration brought together golfers, business leaders, media, and community members from across South Florida, including Coral Gables Mayor Vince Lago, Coral Gables Vice Mayor Rhonda Anderson,Jorge Arrizzurieta, President & CEO Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, Melissa Castro, Coral Gables Commissioner as well as local business and community leaders. Golf creator Evan Thompson helped officially open the venue with a ceremonial first swing, kicking off an evening that showcased Five Iron’s technology, instruction, league offerings, and community-focused programming.
The opening also coincides with Women’s Golf Month, with Five Iron Coral Gables hosting a series of Women’s Wednesday events throughout June in partnership with Legs Golf Miami. Programming includes complimentary golf, social events, and beginner-friendly experiences designed to introduce more women to the game and foster community through golf.
Five Iron Golf Coral Gables is now open to the public, with a limited number of Founding Memberships still available. The venue offers year-round opportunities to play, practice, compete, and socialize through simulator golf, instruction, leagues, events, and custom club fitting. Guests can also enjoy Strike Club Bowling, creating a destination for everything from corporate outings and celebrations to casual nights out. As the newest addition to South Florida’s golf landscape, Five Iron Coral Gables combines instruction, technology, competition, and hospitality in a format designed to help more people play and enjoy the game year-round.
