The leading indoor golf and entertainment brand to introduce a new way to play
NEW YORK CITY, NY — Five Iron Golf, known for pioneering authentic, accessible, and fun golf and entertainment experiences in the United States, is expanding its global reach with its first location in Delhi, India, slated to open in March 2023.
With less than 200 golf courses in the entire country, most of which are private and prohibitively expensive, golf has not yet reached the Indian masses. In a recent survey conducted by the International Journal of Physical Education, Sport and Health about people’s perception of golf in India, 76 percent of respondents reported that they have never played golf, something largely attributable to the sport’s inaccessibility in the country. Five Iron Golf enters the market believing it will be a positive force for change, helping to shatter the traditional barriers to entry by providing access to unique, carefully curated, and tech-enabled golf experiences in the densely populated National Capital Region of Greater Noida.
“To be able to participate in the modern golf movement and grow the game globally is exactly why we created Five Iron Golf,” said Jared Solomon, CEO and Co-Founder of Five Iron Golf. “We remain committed to breaking down any barriers to play and are excited to plant our roots in India.”
Located on the first floor of the Grand Venice Mall, Five Iron Golf India will be home to seven custom-built simulators, which feature TrackMan Golf launch monitors and multiple high-speed cameras to capture every angle of the golf swing. The simulators are perfect for everything from immersive course play on the world’s greatest golf courses, to carefree gaming, to targeted practice sessions. The space is open to all – newcomers, expert players, and everyone in between. In addition to the golf simulators, Five Iron Golf India, which was developed through a strategic partnership with Hoche Partners Golf Studios Private Limited and shopping mall owner, the DS Group, will include dynamic entertainment areas, a full-service bar and restaurant, and the company’s signature “urban art” design aesthetic.
“We see tremendous potential for golf in India, where the general population has had little or no access to golf as a recreational activity,” said Gregg Hayden, Partner of Hoche Partners Golf Studios Private Limited. “Five Iron Golf India will change this by providing a fun, social setting to enjoy golf and top-notch food and beverage with family, dates, co-workers, friends, and/or your friendly competitor.”
Founded in Manhattan in 2017, Five Iron Golf has since expanded across nine cities with 15 domestic locations and an international location in Singapore. Bringing with it a reputation for celebrating the unconventional and energizing communities through accessible and enjoyable golf experiences, the brand prides itself on pushing the boundaries of traditional golf and exceeding the needs of core golfers, beginners, hobbyists, and more.
