FlightScope User Retief Goosen Wins Bridgestone SENIOR PLAYERS
FlightScope – global leader in tracking and analyzing sports performance data – congratulates Retief Goosen on his victory at this past weekend’s Bridgestone SENIOR PLAYERS, contested at Firestone Country Club in Akron, OH.
Goosen, a longtime FlightScope user, earns his first victory on the PGA TOUR Champions and adds to an illustrious career that includes seven PGA TOUR wins and two U.S. Open titles. Earlier this year, the South African was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame as a member of the 2019 class.
“I knew it was going to play tough for everybody and I just had to hang in there,” said Goosen. “I had a nice driver,4-iron on the second and made an eagle. It sort of settled me down and from there I was just trying to hang on.”
With the win, Goosen continues his strong play over the past month, finishing no worse than T11 in his past four starts, a stretch that included a runner-up finish at the American Family Insurance Championship. His torrid play has vaulted him into the top-10 of the season long Charles Schwab Cup standings where he currently ranks 8th. The victory also secures a spot in the 2020 PLAYERS Championship, contested next March at TPC Sawgrass.
Another PGA TOUR Champions standout using FlightScope this season is current Schwab Cup leader Scott McCarron. The 11-time Champions Tour winner incorporated the X3 into his preparation this year and is in the midst of a remarkable season, posting 11 top-10 finishes in 16 starts, including victories at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic, Insperity Invitational, and Mastercard Japan Championship.
“Our launch monitors have a large and rapidly growing following among both the best players and coaches in the world, because they deliver performance data golfers can trust,” says Henri Johnson, Founder & CEO of FlightScope. “From highly-respected veteran players like Goosen and McCarron, to established and rising PGA TOUR superstars including Bubba Watson, Bryson DeChambeau and Matthew Wolff.”
FlightScope’s X3 tracking technology provides several world first benefits to players and instructors, including its ‘Fusion Tracking,’ a combination of 3D tracking and image processing creating unmatched performance data. Newly upgraded software features include Environmental Optimizer technology, another world first which enables players to plan and prepare for specific tournament conditions, without having to leave their home course. FlightScope’s MultiCam App allows golfers to automatically record and sync data from multiple cameras for instant on-screen review.
