Florence, OR — In a heartfelt revival of one of Oregon’s most beloved golf destinations, Florence Golf Links is officially returning to its original identity as Sandpines Golf Links. Under new ownership, the course is poised for a renaissance that honors its storied past while building toward a dynamic future.
New owners Tara Bahl and Andrew Arredondo, a young married couple from Los Angeles, have relocated to Florence with a shared vision and deep commitment to both the course and the broader Oregon golfing community. Their mission is clear: to restore Sandpines to its former glory and reestablish it as a premier coastal golf experience.
As part of this vision, Bahl and Arredondo have reached out to Rees Jones Inc., the original
course design firm, to explore potential collaboration and ensure any future improvements reflect the spirit of the original layout. Earlier this year, Greg Muirhead, one of the original architects of Sandpines, traveled to Florence to meet with the new owners and begin building a relationship around the course’s ongoing stewardship and development.
The new ownership team is also breathing new life into the on-site amenities. Plans are underway to reopen the restaurant and bar, creating a welcoming hub for golfers and locals alike.
Brent Holley, the newly appointed Food & Beverage Manager, brings years of hospitality experience and a passion for community-driven dining.
“We want the restaurant to reflect the same spirit as the course — rooted in quality, warmth, and local pride,” said Brent. “My head chef, Steven, and I have worked hard to bring our fresh, innovative, and fun menu and warm atmosphere back to Sandpines. We’re working hard to build a space that people will love coming back to, whether they’ve just finished 18 holes or just want a great meal with friends.”
Their goal is to see the full transformation — from branding to amenities — completed by the end of May.
“We believe in the magic of this course and this community,” said Tara Bahl. “We’re here not just to restore a golf course, but to help reignite a sense of pride and connection in Sandpines — for locals, visitors, and the broader Oregon & American golf community.”
“We came here because we believe Sandpines can once again be one of the top golf destinations in the Pacific Northwest — and we’re committed to putting in the work to make that happen,” added Andrew Arredondo.
Sandpines Golf Links invites golfers and community members to stay tuned for reopening announcements and upcoming events. A new chapter is unfolding — one rooted in history, passion, and the promise of a bright future on the greens.
