Event June 4-6, 2019, will be third PNGA event in four years at the Central Oregon Coast favorite
FLORENCE, Ore. – Florence Golf Links, in partnership with the Pacific Northwest Golf Association, is proud to announce it will serve as host of the 55th Senior Men’s Amateur Championship, and 10th Super Senior Men’s Amateur Championship, June 4-6, 2019.
“Florence Golf Links is very excited to host this prestigious annual PNGA championship,” said General Manager Rick Reed. “This will be our 3rd PNGA championship we have hosted over the last four years, after the PNGA Men’s Mid-Amateur and the PNGA Junior Boys’ and Junior Girls’ Amateur Championships.”
“We are excited to head out to the Central Oregon Coast to hold our Senior Championships at such an outstanding golf course,” said Scotty Crouthamel, Senior Director of Rules and Competition for the PNGA. “Florence Golf Links has been a favorite of PNGA players for a long time, and we look forward to a great week of golf in June.”
Entries are open to amateur golfers who are members of a PNGA member club, meet the age requirements and have a USGA Handicap Index or Golf Canada Handicap Factor not exceeding 8.4 for the Senior Championship, 12.4 for the Super Senior Championship, and 16.4 for the Open Division. The field limit of 72 in the Senior Championship, 42 in the Super Senior Championship, and 30 in the Open Division will be filled first by exempt players, followed by order of entry receipt. Since all of the above are conducted concurrently, the PNGA reserves the right to modify the field limits to reach a full field of 144 players.
Senior Championship and Open Division entrants must be 55 years of age or older by June 4, 2019. Contestants entering the Senior Championship will compete in a 54-hole, stroke play, individual competition (gross only), from 6,500 yards. Contestants entering the Open Division will compete in a 54-hole individual gross and net competition from 6,000 yards.
Super Senior Championship entrants must be 65 years of age or older by June 4, 2019. Entrants will compete in a 54-hole individual gross competition and will compete from 6,000-yard tees.
The entry fee of $285 includes: three rounds of championship play, one hosted practice round, warm up range balls each day, Cutter & Buck apparel gift, lunch following play after round two and round three, Kusak crystal awards for top-finishers and an $8,000 merchandise payout.
