Gift assists GCSAA members affected by natural disasters
Lawrence, Kan. – FMC Corporation, a leading global agricultural sciences company, is supporting GCSAA Foundation’s Disaster Relief Program with a $25,000 donation and will provide dollar-for-dollar matching gift for the 2022 Giving Tuesday Campaign up to a grand total of $25,000. FMC’s donation will help the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) to provide immediate financial assistance to its members who have suffered personal loss from natural disasters.
Giving Tuesday is Nov. 29 and is a great opportunity for GCSAA members and others in the industry to double the impact of their gifts through the generosity of FMC. However, all donations will be matched up to $25,000 regardless of the date they are donated.
“GCSAA has a dozen chapters throughout Florida representing nearly 2,000 members. Programs like the GCSAA Disaster Relief Fund are really needed after devastating events like Hurricane Ian,” said Mike Sisti, FMC’s North America marketing manager for Professional Solutions. “FMC is proud to contribute to the responsive effort and to support GCSAA members in need. The Giving Tuesday Campaign on November 29 is a great opportunity for GCSAA members and others in the industry to take advantage of FMC’s pledge and double the impact of their gifts.”
In 2006, in reaction to Hurricane Katrina, GCSAA established the Disaster Relief Fund to assist GCSAA members who suffered personal loss. The fund has continued to be a resource for members who face tragedy caused by natural disasters, and in 2020 those affected by COVID-19 also became eligible to receive relief funds. The GCSAA Disaster Relief Fund is administer by the GCSAA Foundation.
“We thank FMC for their generosity and willingness to help our members in their time of need, GCSAA CEO Rhett Evans said. “FMC has a long history of supporting GCSAA and its members, and we appreciate all that they do.”
In addition to the Disaster Relief Donation, FMC is proud to support local GCSAA chapters through the FMC Give Back to Local Chapters program. Since its inception in 2020, the program has donated nearly $100,000 directly to local chapters. The latest round of Give Back checks, totaling an additional $5,000, will be delivered by FMC market specialists at local chapter meetings.
FMC is also a Silver Partner in GCSAA’s Partner Recognition Program and is recognized in the GCSAA Foundation’s Cumulative Giving Program at the Presidential Club level, for organizations that have given between $100,000 and $249,999 since 1987.
