Roscommon, MI – Forest Dunes, the premier golf destination in northern Michigan featuring golf courses by Tom Weiskopf and Tom Doak, has received national recognition by two of the golf industries leading publications: Golf Digest and Golfweek.
Forest Dunes received an Editor’s Choice Award by Golf Digest as one of the Best Golf Resorts in the Americas and Golfweek ranked The Loop at Forest Dunes No.69 on its most recent ranking of the Top 100 Modern Courses.
Golf Digest’s annual review of “The Best Things in Golf” by its editors appears in the May 2018 issue and online at Golfdigest.com. The listing recognizes resorts throughout the United States, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, Bermuda and Canada.
Forest Dunes was recognized by the editors as one of the best resorts in the Midwest region. Forest Dunes joined other elite destinations from the Midwest including The Inn at Bay Harbor, The American Club, Erin Hills, French Lick Resort, Giants Ridge, and Sand Valley.

Innovation is the best way to explain The Loop, which debuted this year on Golfweek’s Top 100 Modern at No. 69. Designed by architect Tom Doak, the Loop is the first truly reversible 18-hole golf course in the World utilizing 18 green complexes.
The Loop, with its revolutionary reversible design, is a walking-only experience featuring the option of professional caddies. The two different layouts, Black-clockwise and Red-counter clockwise, alternate directions on a daily basis allowing golfers to experience a unique 54-hole golf vacation package unlike any other.
