foreUP Releases New Tools to Help Courses Meet COVID Guidelines
Lindon, UT – foreUP Golf Software, the most comprehensive of the industry’s cloud-based golf course systems, has launched a series of new tools and features that will allow golf courses to operate without human-to-human interaction.
In April, foreUP sped production of new tools that will help courses and clubs meet social distancing and health standards that have resulted from the COVID-19 outbreak. Among these tools are Mobile Check In, a Digital Starter Sheet, and Online Retail for Passes/Memberships. They’ve also added new functionality for existing features, like increment setting control, requiring online prepayments for tee times, and allowing customers to pay with known payment methods saved to their files.
“These are tools that have been in production for a while, but new features typically go through rigorous testing before they are released to all our users,” says Heber Eastman, Chief Product Officer at foreUP. “Because we know how powerful these features will be for our courses right now, we pivoted the focus for our teams and were able to release them this week.”
During hectic times for local businesses everywhere, foreUP representatives plan to work toward enabling customer-engagement that doesn’t risk the health of industry employees, customers, and businesses. The new tools for digitizing more of the business operations will assist golf owners in managing their daily course activities, keeping customers aware, and allowing courses to keep their doors open if/when possible.
Mobile Check In
foreUP released the ability for customers to check in directly from their online portal, rather than going up to a counter. The automated tee time confirmation emails will now include a link to check in. From there, the customer will click through to their online portal to pay for their tee time. If the customer has already paid online at the time of booking they will only be prompted to check in. Learn more about Mobile Check In HERE.
Digital Starter Sheet
foreUP’s new Digital Starter Sheet makes it simple to verify check in, verify payment, and regulate pace of play. It has the ability to personalize customers by assigning cart numbers to their tee sheet, or check in groups of players directly from the 1st tee. For those customers who have payment methods on file, the starter will be able to utilize those payment methods to expedite the customer’s check in process.
Online Sales for Passes and Cards
foreUP has added the ability for courses and clubs to sell Passes online, in addition to the online gift card eCommerce capabilities the system already included. Options to purchase punch cards, memberships, or season passes can be done through the online portal, which relieves unnecessary calls to the Pro Shop and increases online sales.
Increment Settings
This preexisting software tool has become even more effective by showing customers how to better use it. Once customers go into the increment settings they can add a timeframe for the altered increments. To avoid course congestion in the short term, courses can increase the reservation interval for specific dates so the change doesn’t impact future tee times that may not need increased increments.
Requiring Online Prepayments
foreUP courses have the benefit of requiring prepayments for online reservations to eliminate the need for onsite payment. Though making online payments mandatory is not a step every course will take, it provides significant value during the COVID outbreak. The module allows courses to add a message explaining the reasons and timeline for the change to payment options.
Courses that see a detriment in making prepayment required can instead rely on Mobile Check In to solve the problem of hand-to-hand transactions.
Payment Methods on File
foreUP has also enabled known payment methods, so customers can elect to pay for food or retail items with a card number that is on file, as opposed to handling a card or cash. Customers can add prefered payment methods to their account via their online portal, or the course attendants can enter it for them via the point of sale or on a tablet at the course.
“We are certain these new functionalities will be game-changers for our courses’ ability to keep their doors open, if allowed by their local officials,” says Eastman.
Non-foreUP users can contact foreUP consultants, who have been empowered to help courses through this time however possible.
