Santa Rosa, Calif. – The Fountaingrove Club in Santa Rosa, Calif. recently welcomed Chef Drew Boczon as the private club’s new Executive Chef. Chef Boczon will oversee menu creation and culinary operations at The Fountaingrove Club’s signature restaurant, Summit Kitchen & Cocktails.
With 20-plus years of culinary experience, Chef Boczon brings a blend of talent, innovation and expertise to The Fountaingrove Club. He hails from a distinguished culinary background, gaining a wealth of experience at renowned establishments across the U.S., including The Matheson in Healdsburg, Calif. and Restaurant DANIEL in New York City. His journey has taken him to the finest kitchens in Ohio, New York, and California, where he has honed his skills under the guidance of esteemed chefs and immersed himself in diverse culinary traditions.
Born in Massachusetts and raised in the Midwest, Boczon takes culinary direction from many outlets. His background includes influences from Classical French, Northern Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisines. His culinary philosophy revolves around using the freshest, locally sourced ingredients to craft tantalizing flavor combinations that celebrate both tradition and innovation.
“Chef Drew has an impressive repertoire and an undeniable passion for gastronomy,” said Eric VanderWerff, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of The Fountaingrove Club. “Already in the short amount of time he has been here, he has already shared many ideas and concepts with the team and cannot wait to hit the ground running. We cannot wait to share his culinary talents with our members and their guests.”
Beyond his exceptional culinary talents, Boczon is known for his leadership skills and ability to foster a collaborative and inspiring kitchen environment. His contagious enthusiasm and dedication to mentorship have nurtured the talents in countless kitchens. When not cooking, Boczon enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, mountain biking and ‘attempting’ to swing a golf club.
Located in the hills northeast of Santa Rosa, The Fountaingrove Club has been managed by Troon Privé, the private club operations division of Troon, since January 2019 and is Sonoma County’s only member-owned, 18-hole, private facility. The club features a beautiful Ted Robinson Sr.-designed golf course that boasts spectacular views of the Hood and Taylor Mountains as well as the rolling hills of Santa Rosa Valley. In early 2022, the club unveiled its new $20 million clubhouse to members and guests. The 22,100 square-foot building replaces the club’s former clubhouse that was destroyed by the Tubbs Fire in October 2017.
Members also enjoy an expansive Athletic Center complex, five tennis courts, a 25-yard infinity swimming pool, and an impressive array of fitness opportunities including martial arts, yoga, aquatics, personal training, spin and strength training. The Fountaingrove Club is proud to be a BoardRoom Magazine Distinguished Club, an annual award program that measures a club’s Member Experience.
