WIGI President Kay McMahon will facilitate the online WIGI-pedia, the WIGI educational webinar series featuring four WIGI entrepreneur members: Cynthia Dye, Jan Bel Jan, Kari Haug and Amanda Barbee. The panel will discuss the challenges of golf course architecture in a male-dominated industry, along with sustainability and course playability for all golfers.
- Jan Bel Jan – Founder & President, Jan Bel Jan Golf Course Design, established in 2009. Jan was elected to the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) in 1990, has served on the ASGCA Executive Committee and was President from 2019 – 2020. She represents the ASGCA as a board member of the National Alliance for Accessible Golf and is a WIGI board member. Bel Jan has presented programs to PGA of America, LPGA, CMAA, GCSAA, and others. Topics have included environmental economics, retaining and engaging more women in golf, and inclusion of people with disabilities in golf. - Cynthia Dye – Founder & Principal Designer, Dye Design Group, founded in 2001. Dye is also a member of American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA). - Kari Haug – CEO & Founder – Kari Haug Planning and Design, Inc., founded in 2005. Kari is a golf course architect trained in Scotland and a full member of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA.) She serves on the EIGCA Council as the DEI Chair and is recognized in Europe as a leader in course design for women, senior men and other slow swing speed players. Kari researched hitting distances for women with American club fitting company Club Champion and has applied the results of that study to her design practices.
