He then birdied the par-5 16th hole (after an errant tee shot) – to give his lead a crucial cushion – before brilliantly lagging a 52-foot putt on the final 72nd hole to inside of one foot to secure the championship. He picked up more than six total strokes on the field with his putter over the course of the four rounds.
