BELEN MOZO JOINS THE G2 ACADEMY IN SUPPORT OF NEW GIRLS ONLY GOLF PROGRAM
The G2 Academy is pleased to announce partnership with Belen Mozo. Mozo joins G2 to support the first all-girls junior golf boarding academy’s mission of creating a female-centric environment for elite junior golfers to train while teaching empowerment and leadership off the course.
Mozo is excited to have the opportunity to help female junior golfers pursue their dreams of collegiate and professional golf. “As someone who attended boarding school to have an opportunity to fulfill my dreams of working on my game and competing at the highest level while finishing my academic studies, I have seen first-hand the benefits it brings to your life as a person and as a professional athlete,” Mozo said.
Belen Mozo was the first amateur since 1972 to win both the Women’s British Championship and the British Girls Amateur Championship. She then went on to play collegiate golf at the University of Southern California where she was a 4-time NCAA All-American. She then qualified for the LPGA Tour on her first attempt in 2010.
Through the partnership, Mozo will play an active role in mentoring The G2 Academy students and helping deserving young women receive scholarships to the academy through the Girls Golf Charitable Foundation (501c3).
“Belen is a great addition to our team,” states Ray Travaglione, G2 Founder and CEO. “She brings passion for the game and knowledge about what it takes to succeed as collegiate and professional player. The G2 Academy students will benefit from interacting with her,” he adds.
