G2 ACADEMY STUDENTS RAISE $5,000 FOR SUPPORT CONNECTION

Bluffton, SC: The inaugural class of full-time junior golfers at The G2 Academy, The G2 Girls, have raised $5,000 for Support Connection, a 501c3 not-for-profit that provides support services to women, their families, and friends affected by breast and ovarian cancer. The G2 Girls launched their fundraiser on February 25, 2020 as a part of their first annual charity Golfathon. The girls will be attempting to play 100 holes at their home course, The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes, on March 28.

This G2 Girls Golfathon is the first team community service project for The G2 Girls and was planned, organized and executed entirely by the students.

Support Connection (501c3) is based in Yorktown Heights, NY. Their mission is to provide emotional, social, and educational support services to women, their families, and friends affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Support Connection helps women navigate the changes experienced as a result of living with breast or ovarian cancer. To learn more about Support Connection, visit www.supportconnection.org.

“We chose to raise money for Support Connection because it is really important to support not only the ones going through breast and ovarian cancer treatment but the loved ones that need the support during these hard times,” the G2 Girls write on their GoFundMe page, “We are proud to be able to support Support Connection and the volunteers that provide this valuable service to women and their loved ones while going through the challenges associated with fighting cancer.”

After reaching their goal in only 9 days, The G2 Girls have increased their fundraising goal to $7,500 and hope to reach the new goal by the time they tee off on March 28 for their 100-hole Golfathon.
