MATT FIELDS JOINS GIRLS-ONLY G2 ACADEMY AS DIRECTOR OF INSTRUCTION
The G2 Academy is pleased to announce Matt Fields as the Director of Instruc-tion. Matt is passionate about training and developing junior golfers. He has been in the junior golf instruction space for over twenty years, training top junior golfers as they pursue their colle-giate and professional playing careers.
“Matt has a proven track record in training junior golfers, particularly female junior golfers. He has the passion, dedication, knowledge and experience to lead the girls of the G2 Academy and help them achieve their goals,” states Ray Travaglione, founder of The G2 Academy.
Prior to joining the all-girls G2 Academy, Matt worked alongside top instructors including Hank Haney, Gary Gilchrist, and Peter Krause. Matt has coached and mentored both domestic and international junior golfers, with over one hundred championships won worldwide by his stu-dents. Matt will focus on fundamentals, technical skill improvement, course management, shot selection, competition and building confidence as he leads the Golf Performance Program at The G2 Academy.
Matt has proven to be a great asset to elite female golfers, including Kelly Whaley, daughter of the PGA of America’s first female president and collegiate player at the University of North Car-olina. Upon hearing the news, Whaley said, “I’m excited to hear that The G2 Academy specifi-cally for elite girl players has hired Matt Fields. As a parent and as a coach and teacher, Matt was instrumental in our daughter’s advancement in the game.”
“I am very excited to be joining the G2 family and returning to Hilton Head under the leadership of Ray Travaglione and Ryley Hendry. My experiences over the last 20 years have prepared me to contribute to achieving the vision Ray and Ryley have established for the academy. I look for-ward helping girls achieve their goals and being a part of their leadership development on and off the course. G2 is a totally new platform for female junior golfers, and I can’t wait to be a part of the female centric training system that is long overdue in the industry. Female golfers deserve a program tailored to their specific needs as athletes, and I am excited to be involved in this in-novative, new all-girls academy.” states Fields.
