Gallus Golf Releases a Guide to Choosing a Mobile App Partner Ahead of the 2020 PGA Show
With the 2020 PGA Show one week away, Gallus Golf has released a helpful guide for golf course operators as they consider a mobile app strategy for their club this season. There are several options to choose from, and Gallus Golf has shared some basic questions they recommend to ask vendors.
“If you are a course operator looking for a mobile app partner before you start comparing app features, there are 5 extremely important questions you should be asking of each vendor.”, states Jason Wilson, CEO at Gallus Golf. “The first step is to consider exactly how to envision using your app, and specifically how you want it to make an impact for you. After this, these 5 questions often get overlooked but should be the first questions you ask. Getting answers to these questions will help to ensure you are working with a mobile app partner that is truly aligned with your goals. Failing to ask these questions can result in buyer’s remorse.”
Below are the 5 simple questions Wilson is referring to:
1. Is the app 100% branded for my golf club?
2. Do I have 100% control over the content and messaging in the app?
3. Can my customers book tee times at my competitors’ golf courses in the app?
4. Will my customers be able to book bartered tee times in the app at my course or other courses?
5. Will my customer’s data be collected and used to market other tee times or services?
Wilson continues, “I have seen too many courses overlook these factors and how it can negatively impact their business. A golf course works hard to promote its app solution. They want to get as many customers to download and use their app. The last thing you want to do as a course operator is to encourage customers to download an app that ultimately is directly competing with your club.”
Wilson also states, “Your club’s mobile app should be YOUR app that benefits YOUR club. These should be the first 5 questions course operators should ask. If the answers support that you truly have full control of YOUR app, then start to dig into the features and benefits. If you don’t have control over what your customers can do (or where they can book) in YOUR app, should you even consider it as an option?”
Gallus Golf will be exhibiting at the 2020 PGA Show and available to answer these 5 questions at Booth 4023.
