FACT – the Pandemic has been horrible. However, with limited recreational options, we all now know that there are more people willing to play golf and they are looking to engage with golf courses on a more frequent basis than in any recent past. One thing that has been measurable is that they have been engaged through technology, most frequently connecting to it via their smartphones.
Over three years ago Gallus Golf began a program called LaunchPad and offered it to new and current customers alike for a fee. This 6-week marketing program was designed to aid golf courses in growing downloads to their app. The Gallus marketing team would step in and add their expertise in marketing an app to a golf audience for the course across social media, email, printed materials and more. In the initial period LaunchPad was running Gallus was seeing an average of FOUR times the average number of downloads a course would get without employing LaunchPad. As a result of that major success, Gallus chose to include LaunchPad for every new client at no charge.
It is a core value at Gallus to always be improving in everything they do, so the team has chosen to revise LaunchPad. The goal is to help end users get more engaged with the features of the courses’ mobile apps, drive repeat business and retention, and build loyalty. In the revision of this program, the marketing campaign will transform into a series of relevant tutorials for all the popular features in the app.
LaunchPad has not only seen continued success within the last year, but now courses in the LaunchPad Program are seeing 10 times the number of downloads that Gallus measured before LaunchPad existed. These new revisions of the program that Gallus is making will aim to capitalize on that level of engagement to not only produce large download numbers, but also produce extremely engaged customers and members.
