“I remember leaving the office on March 17th of this year as the pandemic began to unfold. I think we all expected in some ways for it to be a blip, and we would return within a few days, or a couple of weeks at most,” says Rob Hoffman, VP of Gallus Golf. “Fortunately, earlier in the year we had launched Mobile Tee Time Check-In in concert with Club Prophet. We believed that being able to engage customers remotely would pay huge dividends in their operations. If we had only known at the time that we began building this feature just how important it would become this year!”
To date, millions of dollars have been processed through this feature that Gallus Golf and Club Prophet combined to launch earlier this year. When the pandemic struck, they quickly mobilized their teams to make a web version of it available free to their customers as well. The solution fully integrates a contactless check-in process that can happen via the web or the club’s custom-branded mobile app with Gallus Golf. It receives payment for tee times booked by a golfer and affects the tee sheet, POS, and payment processor and, in turn, bank account of the course. It is just the same as if the golfer had walked into the golf shop and handed over crisp $100 bills.
“We spoke with many courses in April and May to get the mobile and web check-in features running for them,” says Kyle Youngkin, Gallus Director of Customer Success. “Without it, many of them would have been unable to open due to local regulations on customer contact. These courses ended up holding a competitive advantage in their market and were able to cultivate loyal relationships as they headed into the golf season- all because they implemented mobile check-in so early on.”
