Englishman joins Team Galvin Green following starring role in historic GB&I victory at Lahinch
Premium high-tech golf apparel brand Galvin Green has today announced the signing of highly rated English golfer Eliot Baker, with the rising star set to wear the latest performance-driven golf clothing as he embarks on the next chapter of his career.
Baker joins Team Galvin Green following a standout performance in the recent Walker Cup at Lahinch, where he played a key role in Great Britain & Ireland’s dramatic 13½-12½ victory over the United States.
Making his second consecutive Walker Cup appearance, the 23-year-old contributed 2½ points to the winning cause, including victories in both of his singles matches. After defeating Josiah Gilbert 3&2 on the opening day, Baker produced another crucial performance in the final session, beating experienced Walker Cup player Stewart Hagestad by one hole to help GB&I complete the biggest comeback in the history of the competition.
Baker’s outstanding season has also seen him make history as the inaugural winner of the Men’s European Amateur Order of Merit (EAOM), while rising to 12th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). Introduced in 2026 to recognise consistency across Europe’s leading amateur championships, the new ranking saw Baker finish at the top of the standings following a series of impressive results, including victory at the European Nations Cup – Copa Sotogrande, where he posted a tournament-record 15-under-par total, as well as runner-up finishes at the Spanish International Amateur Championship and Brabazon Trophy.
Baker has already demonstrated his ability to compete at the highest level. On his DP World Tour debut at the Nexo Championship, he carded rounds of 69, 73, 73 and 70 to finish 15th at three-under-par, an exceptional performance as an amateur.
As part of his new partnership with Galvin Green, Baker will wear a selection of garments from the brand’s latest 2026 Part Two range, combining advanced technologies with contemporary styling designed to meet the demands of tournament golf whatever the weather.
“I’m really pleased to be joining Team Galvin Green as I embark on the next chapter of my playing career,” said Baker. “The brand has such a strong reputation for delivering top performance and superior quality, so I’m looking forward to wearing the apparel and representing the brand across the world,” he added.
Sofia Ask Klason, Global Brand Director at Galvin Green, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Eliot to Team Galvin Green and look forward to supporting him as his career develops. We’re confident our high-tech apparel will give him the comfort, protection and freedom of movement he needs to perform at the highest level.
“To win both of his singles matches in such a dramatic GB&I victory was hugely impressive to see, and when you combine that with becoming the inaugural winner of the Men’s European Amateur Order of Merit and his debut performance on the DP World Tour, it’s clear that Eliot has an incredibly exciting future ahead of him,” she added.
Baker joins an exciting Team Galvin Green line-up featuring players competing across the PGA TOUR, DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour, including Jesper Svensson, Tobias Jonsson, Stefano Mazzoli, Callum Tarren, Claes Thrane Borregaard, Hannah Darling, Corinne Viden and fellow GB&I Walker Cup teammate Ben Bolton.
The addition of Baker further underlines the brand’s commitment to supporting both established Tour professionals and the next generation of elite golfing talent.
