Jupiter, FL – The Gary & Vivienne Player Foundation, established in January 2022 with a noble mission to uplift children in the United States from poverty, proudly unveiled its Legacy Campaign during a star-studded event held at The Bear’s Club in Jupiter, FL. The Legacy Campaign will ensure that the charitable endeavors of Gary and Vivienne Player continue to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children for generations to come.
Named “Journey from Africa,” the event brought together a constellation of celebrity guests, including South African golfers Nick Price, Garrick Higgo, Thomas Aiken, Huge Baiocchi, Ashleigh Buhai, and David Frost. Other esteemed golfers, including Camilo Villegas, Aline Krauter, and Susana Benavides, also joined the event to pay tribute to Gary Player’s profound influence on his homeland and his tireless dedication to uplifting the lives of underprivileged children worldwide.
Prior to Monday’s golf, Jack Nicklaus joined Gary Player Sunday evening at The Bear’s Club side- by-side for an intimate question and answer session. The two hall of fame golfers sat together and recounted stories of their wins, their decades long friendship, their families and most memorable career moments.
Reflecting on the Foundation’s unwavering commitment, Executive Director, Amanda-Leigh Player Hall, daughter of Gary and Vivienne Player, underscored the organization’s focus on supporting initiatives that provide essential resources such as education, health, and housing to break the cycle of childhood poverty. Since its inception, the Foundation has positively impacted over 22,000 children through its support of 11 organizations dedicated to this cause.
The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the Foundation’s groundbreaking 1000 for $1000 Legacy Campaign. The initiative invites supporters to join the exclusive “Player’s Champions” group by pledging $1000 towards perpetuating Gary Player’s philanthropic legacy in the United States. Donors not only contribute to a worthy cause, but also gain the chance to win a private clinic and dinner for an individual or group with Gary Player.
The Foundation’s exemplary transparency and impact were recently recognized with the prestigious Platinum Seal of Transparency from GuideStar, a testament to its unwavering dedication to accountability and effectiveness in the philanthropic sector.
The event also shone a spotlight on two non-profit beneficiaries who have been supported by The Gary and Vivienne Player Foundation, “Place of Hope” and “Elevate USA.” These organizations were recognized for their outstanding work in providing vital support and opportunities for vulnerable children, further highlighting the collaborative spirit and collective impact at the heart of the Foundation’s mission.
