Apex, NC – Golf Business Network (GBN) proudly supported PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), the flagship military program of the PGA of America REACH Foundation, for the 2024 Bob Ford Pro-Pro Championship at Hidden Creek Golf Club in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. This annual event, a highlight for GBN Members, allows golf professionals to compete and network.
PGA HOPE is a six- to eight-week developmental curriculum taught by PGA of America Golf Professionals trained in adaptive golf and military cultural competency. The program introduces golf to Veterans and Active Duty Military to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being.
This year, GBN came alongside GBN Advisory Board Member, Bob Ford, to introduce a philanthropic component to the championship, raising funds for PGA HOPE. This initiative holds special significance, as Bob Ford serves as a PGA of America Ambassador and Trustee of the Board for the PGA of America REACH Foundation. Additionally, GBN’s leadership team includes U.S. Army Veterans, such as Co-Owner and COO, Matt Marciniak and Advisory Board Member, Colonel (R) Spencer Clouatre, PhD, both graduates of West Point.
The event successfully raised funds from GBN’s over 2,000 Members, vendor partners, and on-site participants. Significant contributions were made by GBN Vendor Partners, including Evolve Golf, Winston Collection, FLAGD Golf, Straight Down, AD Palmer and Tee Commerce, among others. “These vendors are leaders in the industry, and their contributions highlight their commitment to supporting Veterans and promoting the game we all love,” stated Matt Marciniak, COO of Golf Business Network.
“It was great to come together with the PGA of America REACH Foundation and raise significant funds for Veterans to have avenues to get into the game,” said Patrick Seither, CEO of Golf Business Network.
In conjunction with the championship play, GBN hosted a special Fireside Chat featuring Senior Director of the PGA of America REACH Foundation – Impact, Kennie Sims, PGA, and PGA HOPE graduate and Veteran, Brad Davis. Davis shared how his relationship with Bob Ford and PGA HOPE has significantly impacted his personal journey and daily life. Sims discussed ways GBN members could engage and support Veterans in learning the game.
“We are grateful for Golf Business Network’s support of PGA HOPE,” said Sims. “The commitment shown by Mr. Ford, GBN and its Members highlight the importance of supporting our Veterans to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being.”
At the conclusion of the event, Golf Business Network successfully raised $10,000 for PGA HOPE, while also fostering opportunities for members to start PGA HOPE programs at their own clubs.
