Gellerman Wins KC Golf Classic with Bettinardi Armlock Putter
Tinely Park, IL: Bettinardi brand advocate, Michael Gellerman scored a bogey-free final-round 69 Sunday at the KC Golf Classic to earn his first Web.com Tour win using his Bettinardi Tour Dept. KM-1 Armlock putter. Gellerman had three birdies on Sunday during the final round at Blue Hills Country Club in Kansas City, finishing 11-under (277 total) to claim the title. With the win, Michael Gellerman jumped from 75th to eighth in The 25 Web.com point’s standings. Gellerman, a former standout player for the Oklahoma Sooners golf team, switched to a Bettinardi Armlock in 2018 after finishing Top 5 on the Mackeznie Tour, and later shooting a 59 that would solidify his confidence and trust in Bettinardi and the arm lock putter.
This is Bettinardi Golfs second Web.com Tour victory in the last three tournaments, winning the Dormie Network Classic in April at Briggs Ranch Golf Course with their custom Studio Reserve Jam Flow with a 26-under final score.
“As I have said before, the Bettinardi arm-lock putter has changed my game dramatically. From the look to the feel off the face, I love everything about my putter.”
Gellerman also adds a third win to the season for the Bettinardi Armlock putter, continuing the arm lock trend that started in 2013, and has recently sparked global interest in the new method of putting.
“It’s an incredible victory for Michael and Bettinardi Golf as we continue to invest in the Web.com Tour,” said Sam Bettinardi, Vice President of Bettinardi Golf. “It’s extra rewarding that Michael used our Armlock putter to secure his first victory, being the original creators of the arm lock putter 6 years ago with PGA Tour veteran Matt Kuchar. We’re looking forward to seeing Michael continue to build off this win, with a path to the PGA Tour looking more promising now than ever.”
Since the brand was established in 1998, Bettinardi putters have secured more than 80 victories around the world across all professional Tours. Off to a hot start in the 2018-2019 season with two wins by long-time brand advocate Matt Kuchar, two Web.com Tour victories in the last three weeks, and multiple top 10 finishes from their Tour Staffers including a T2 from Tour staffer Eddie Pepperell at this week’s British Masters.
