CONWAY, AR — The 4th Annual Central Arkansas Open Professional Women’s golf tournament is scheduled to be played July 19-22 at Centennial Valley Country Club. It is the 11th tournament in the 2023 Women’s All Pro Tour organized by K&G Sports. The tournament was established and is presented by Rock Pond Pros and as of today is named the Genesis of Conway Central Arkansas Open.
“As a 2022 sponsor, we experienced the level of competition and quality of this event firsthand. We hope to leverage Genesis Motors deep tradition in golf at the Genesis Invitational PGA tournament hosted by Tiger Woods to bring the Genesis brand values of elevated hospitality and community involvement to all fans and athletes involved with the game of golf in Central Arkansas.” said Chris Crain, the founder of Genesis of Conway.
The 2023 Genesis of Conway Central Arkansas Open is more than a 4-day professional golf tournament. It is a week where Conway families open their homes to professional golfers from around the world competing for $55,000 in prize money with the hopes of making it to the LPGA and a life of professional golf. It is one of a few professional athletic events played in Central Arkansas and the only one ever to be played in Faulkner County. The tournament provides an opportunity to meet the pros, play with the pros and talk with the pros for aspiring junior golfers and people of any age who love the game of golf and world class competition.
Pete Tanguay, tournament chair and founder said, “We’ve worked hard to put together a first-class team to deliver a world class event, right here in Central Arkansas. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Genesis of Conway to realize our dreams to take the event to the next level. Although during the tournament week the focus is on professional golf, the year-round vision is to empower women to dream without limits. This starts with the professional women golfers from all parts of the world and extends to women of all ages in Central Arkansas through our partnership with the Women’s Leadership Network here in Conway.”
This year the Women’s All Pro Tour has selected five tournaments to add a college division to the competition. The week will kick off with a College/Am with 36 of the top collegiate golfers teamed up with lady junior golfers on Monday and will continue Tuesday with a Pro/Am event with local amateurs teaming up with professional women golfers. The professional competition will begin on Wednesday and will conclude on Saturday with awards and check presentations to follow around 1pm. The total tournament purse is $55,000. Admission is FREE.
