CONWAY, AR — The Central Arkansas Open Professional Women’s golf tournament is partnering with First Tee—Central Arkansas to expand its reach to more youth and adults in Central Arkansas.
The ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour event will kick off with a Junior Pro/Am on Monday. The format is a professional golfer teamed up with 3 junior golfers. This is a tremendous opportunity for young golfers to spend time with a professional, golfing alongside them, learning what the life of a professional athlete is like from them, and enjoying lunch with them. Partnering with First Tee – Central Arkansas is a perfect partnership to connect with youth who will love this opportunity.
“Our mission at First Tee is to enable kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of challenges. We’re excited to expand our platform with a professional women’s golf tournament as part of the ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour. The opportunity for our kids to volunteer, play, and interact with professional women worldwide will be life changing. This aligns perfectly with our mission and presents an incredible opportunity to provide what is sure to be a transformative experience for our participants.” shared Monica Blake, Executive Director of First Tee – Central Arkansas.
The 2024 Genesis of Conway Central Arkansas Open is more than a 4-day professional golf tournament. It is a week where Conway families open their homes to professional golfers from around the world competing for $55,000 in prize money with the hopes of making it to the LPGA and a life of professional golf. The tournaments is preceded by the Junior Pro/Am on Monday and an adult Pro/Am event with local amateurs on Tuesday.
Pete Tanguay, tournament chair and founder said, “Our tournament director, April Worley, added a junior Pro/Am last year and it was a huge success. Connecting with the life skills and leadership programs of the First Tee – Central Arkansas will help us increase the impact of our tournament. Beyond the impact we will have on the youth who volunteer in the tournament and play and talk with the pros, I’m sure we will also have a reciprocal impact on the professionals who come to Conway to compete as well.”
The 5th annual Central Arkansas Open will be played at Centennial Valley Country Club on July 13, 2024. The professional competition begins on Wednesday and will conclude on Saturday with awards and check presentations to follow around 1 pm. Save the dates and join us the week of July 13-18. Admission is FREE.
