MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The 53rd annual George Holliday Memorial Junior Tournament, which will be played November 25-27 on Myrtle Beach National’s three highly regarded courses, is now accepting entries.

One of the premier junior events in the Carolinas, the George Holliday Memorial Junior Tournament counts current PGA and LPGA players Lucas Glover, D.J. Trahan and Kristy McPherson among its past participants.

The 54-hole tournament will be played on three Arnold Palmer designs – King’s North, the West Course and SouthCreek – at Myrtle Beach National over the Thanksgiving holiday. The event is open to junior golfers who are 18 years of age or younger and still in high school as of November 25, 2021.

Registration deadline is a November 18 at 5 p.m.

The competition divisions are boys ages 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, and 16-18 years of age. There are three age brackets in the girls’ division: 10-12, 13-14, and 15-18 years of age.

Golfers are encouraged to register early as the field of 160 players is expected to fill quickly.

In 2020, Andrew Gregory of Spartanburg, S.C., and Audrey Ryu from Dublin, Ohio won the boys and girls crowns.

Entry into the event is $185 and includes a welcome gift, lunch and range balls on tournament days.

George Holliday was a successful junior and collegiate golfer who was tragically killed in a 1967 automobile accident at the age of 22. The Galivants Ferry, S.C. native believed his experience as a junior golfer was paramount in molding him into the fine young man he became. His family created the tournament to give junior golfers an opportunity to compete in a high-caliber tournament setting.

More information about the event is available at MyrtleBeachJuniorGolf.com or by calling Myrtle Beach National at 843-448-2308.
