Latest research examines the perspectives of private clubs and what challenges and opportunities lie ahead
GGA Partners, a premier private club consulting firm, and the Club Management Association of America have unveiled their latest research offering an in-depth look into the state of private clubs across the country.
A Club Leader’s Perspective: Emerging Trends & Opportunities for 2023 found that despite challenges, club leaders are optimistic about the future of the industry, with continued growth in membership demand and increased utilization rates. However, leaders are also mindful of potential challenges ahead, including human resource difficulties and the impact of high inflation on expense budgets.
Michael Gregory, Managing Director & Partner at GGA Partners, highlights the importance of understanding the current state of the industry in today’s evolving business environment. “A Club Leader’s Perspectives” provides club professionals with a comprehensive overview of the current state of the industry and key considerations for the year ahead. The report is a valuable resource for club leaders who are looking to proactively plan for potential recessionary impacts and stay ahead of the curve.”
The annual survey, which was conducted in December 2022 through January 2023, involved over 200 club leaders, most of whom serve as General Managers, COOs, and CEOs. The report provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of the industry and delves into various themes, including member experience, capital and finance, diversity, equity and inclusion, and inflationary impacts on service.
“We are pleased to share our latest research on the state of private clubs in the evolving business landscape,” said Gregory. “We believe that this report will provide valuable insights and inform strategies for club professionals, helping to ensure a bright future for clubs and the industry.”
