BOYNE Golf will play host to the Global Golf Tourism Organization’s 15th annual North America Convention (NAC) from 17-19 June 2024 at the Mountain Grand Lodge & Spa in Boyne Falls, North Michigan.
IAGTO (International Association of Golf Tour Operators) will bring 130 top-producing golf travel agencies from around the world to the event, including over 50 from the USA and Canada. On the day that IAGTO published its NAC 2024 website – www.iagto.com/NAC – its Chief Executive, Peter Walton, said: “NAC is relevant to all golf resorts across the USA that attract high-end golf travelers, domestic or international.”
Acknowledging the industry’s focus on direct bookings and dynamic pricing, Walton added: “There is a cost of sale to every booking, but the beauty of business from golf travel agencies is that there is zero risk and zero marketing spend. The cost of sale is only incurred on business delivered and the golf resort is always in control of dates, dates and times promoted and sold. Tour operators can tailor programs to shoulder and low-season as well as delivering seamless sales with minimum admin at the more popular times.
“The other point I want to stress is that golf tour operators are golf vacation packagers and not bed-banks or tee-time reservation companies. They promote the destination and resort and do all of the marketing, promotion and customer service, delivering only confirmed business to the golf resort in the form of highly tailored packages.
“Golf tour operators come in many shapes and sizes in order to compete with each other, handling high-end individuals and the widest range of groups imaginable. We would encourage every golf resort with an interest in this business to join us in Michigan next June for two days of pre-scheduled meetings with buyers and three days of conversations with fellow professionals from around the world of golf travel.”
NAC 2024 with BOYNE Golf includes 13 hours of pre-scheduled meetings, Welcome Reception, Dine-Around, Farewell Dinner and 2 Convention Lunches as well as optional participation in the NAC Golf Tournament.
Participant golf resorts will join the likes of Pebble Beach Resorts, Boyne Golf, Treetops Golf Resort, Grand Traverse Resort, Crystal Mountain, Garland Lodge & Golf Resort, Cordevalle, Nemacolin Resort, Kaanapali Golf, Trump National Doral, Mission Inn Resort, Saddlebrook Resort, Sawgrass Marriott, The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Innisbrook Resort, Reunion Resort, Tetherow Resort, Sunriver Resort, Horseshoe Bay Resort, Palmetto Dunes, Turning Stone, Wild Dunes, Destination Kohler and Oglebay.
