National Champion wins spot in PGA Tour Pro-am at 2022 Farmers Insurance Open
WASHINGTON DC. – Glover Park Golf, a tournament organizer and event company since 2009, is announcing a national golf tournament series for players of all skill levels. Through the Glover Park Golf mobile app, golfers will be able to track net scores on a live national leaderboard and compete against friends, and other golfers across the nation, on any course of their choice on a GPG tournament day. The national champion wins a playing spot in the pro-am at the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.
“It’s the Peloton of golf,” said GPG cofounder, Steve Panas, “Glover Park Golf offers a tournament platform for golfers of all skill levels to compete on any course, in real time, on the same day and have a blast doing it. Gone are the days of tournament check ins and random pairings – play where you want when you want with your whole squad on our live national leaderboard.”
Glover Park Golf’s mobile app, now available for IOS and Android, tracks your scores and calculates your GPG handicap. The app factors in the difficulty (par/rating/slope) of the golf course no matter where you are playing and adjusts the scores accordingly to level the playing field. Scores will be posted on a live leaderboard as golfers compete on their “home” course or any course they choose, allowing each player to know exactly where they stand in real time against the entire field across the country.
GPG’s inaugural 2021 season will consist of five tournaments with winners receiving tour quality trophies and other prizes including a classic and soon to be collectible, “GP Masters” gold jacket for the winner of the GP Masters. Players who don’t bring their A-game will still have a chance to score some prizes and swag as prizes will be given out at the end of every tournament to randomly picked participants regardless of score. Everyone is a potential winner- both on and off the course – when you are a GPG member.
As the season progresses, GPG members will accumulate points based on how they finish during each tournament. The top 50 players in the GPG rankings at the end of the season will earn their place to compete in GP Nationals and play for free. This year’s GP Nationals will be a one-day event held at the award-winning, Jack Nicklaus Signature design, Ocean Hammock Golf Club (a $295 value) located at Hammock Beach Golf Resort and Spa, near Jacksonville, Florida on December 11, 2021.
The winner of GPG Nationals will receive the ultimate grand prize: an all-expense paid trip to San Diego, CA and the opportunity to play with a PGA Tour professional during the Wednesday Pro-Am for the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open at iconic Torrey Pines Golf Course, overlooking the Pacific Ocean in January 2022.
“By joining the Glover Park Golf community, you can go from a recreational golfer to developing a competitive game to competing against thousands of other golfers across the country,” said Jonathan Leon. Golfers who want to play against their buddies anywhere they play now have that platform through GPG’s mobile app and virtual scoring system. It doesn’t matter if you shoot in the 70s, 80s, 90s, or over 100–everyone has a chance to win with net scoring.”
