Kaua‘i, Hawai‘i (– Go Golf Kaua‘i courses have launched initiatives aimed at making golf more accessible for junior golfers, enhancing the island’s appeal as a family-friendly destination. From free golf for juniors when accompanied by a paying adult to a flat $20 per junior rate, the five Go Golf Kaua‘i courses are committed to providing juniors with opportunities to play, even while on vacation.
Junior golf rates at Go Golf Kaua‘i courses include:
- The Ocean Course at Hōkūala has introduced the “Hōkū‘ala Kids” program, allowing juniors aged 15 and under to play free with a paying adult after 11 a.m. If accompanied by two juniors, one plays free while the other pays half the adult rate. A driver is required for the second junior, with a maximum of two riders per cart.
- Princeville Makai Golf Club offers complimentary play for juniors aged 6 to 12 when accompanied by a paying adult after 10 a.m. Unaccompanied juniors in this age group pay the full rate. Those aged 13 to 17 receive a 50% discount off the adult rate when playing with an adult at any time.
- Puakea Golf Course provides a flat rate of $20 per junior golfer throughout the year, making it an affordable option for families.
- Po‘ipū Bay Golf Course extends a 50% discount off adult rates to junior golfers year-round, encouraging more young players to experience the course.
- Wailua Golf Course offers the Summer Golf Program for juniors with multiple sessions throughout the summer. For $35 per child, per session, juniors ages 7 to 15 receive instruction on putting, chipping, iron-play and driving.

- The Ocean Course at Hōkūala – The Ocean Course at Hōkūala is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course that boasts the longest stretch of oceanfront holes in all of Hawai‘i. Princeville Makai features surreal vistas of Mt. Makana (aka Bali Hai) and Hanalei Bay, including the signature par-3, 7th hole that offers a 213-yard shot over scenic cliffs.
- Puakea Golf Course – Designed by architect Robin Nelson, Puakea is a spectacular layout built along massive ravines and lush tropical undulating terrain, with the backdrop being used for the Jurassic Park series. Named one of the top courses in Hawai‘i by Sports Illustrated, Golf Advisor and Golfweek, the dramatic 18-hole golf course is also known for its high-quality, “Kaua‘i-style” customer service. Puakea was rated “Best of Kaua‘i” by Garden Island Newspaper from 2013 – 2019.
- Wailua Golf Course – Wailua Golf Course offers classic, golden-era seaside golf holes just a few steps from the Pacific Ocean. First built as a 9-hole course in the 1930’s, and expanded to 18 holes in 1961, Wailua has hosted three USGA Amateur and three US Public Links Championships. This wonderful municipal layout was designed by Toyo Shirai and features stunning mountain views along the Royal Coconut Coast.
