Pinehurst, NC – Golf Business Network (GBN) proudly hosted its annual Leadership Summit from November 12–14, 2024, at Forest Creek Golf Club in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Over 40 of the industry’s top professionals and vendor partners came together for three days of engaging education, networking, and both on and off-course activities in a world-class setting.
The Summit delivered valuable insights through educational sessions led by respected guest speakers Casey Brozek of Medinah Country Club, John Marino of Old Chatham Golf Club, Jim Nittoli of San Antonio Country Club, Hugh Matthis of Forest Creek Golf Club, and Eric Gilliland of Audubon Country Club. Discussions moderated by Col. (R) Spencer Clouatre, who holds a PhD in Leadership and Economics, focused on best practices for building thriving cultures at golf clubs, fostering mentorship, and encouraging personal growth within teams.
Adding a powerful dimension to the event, keynote speaker Col. (R) Chris Black, a decorated veteran, shared his expertise on team development and retention strategies. His message resonated deeply with attendees, offering actionable advice to inspire leadership and strengthen staff engagement.
Beyond the educational sessions, attendees enjoyed the Summit’s planned activities that blended professional networking with memorable experiences. Following daily education sessions, attendees partook in friendly competitions such as the Closest-to-the-Hole Contest and Hog Hole Shootout, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and connection. Nick Jones of Hallbrook Country Club won the Closest-to-the-Hole Contest, sponsored by Donald Ross Sportswear, while Steve Bordner of The Country Club took first place in the Hog Hole Shootout, winning an RXV ELiTE golf cart provided by E-Z-GO. Activities such as hitting nighttime shots with Glow Vibe Golf and playing ping-pong in Forest Creek’s top ranked locker room allowed for attendees to enjoy some unstructured time to network.
Vendor partners played a vital role in the event’s success, showcasing products and services that reflect the excellence of the golf industry.
