Steve Archer’s appointment as the Director of Club Operations adds another layer of excitement to the burgeoning golf scene in Naples. With a career marked by notable achievements and contributions to the golf industry, Steve brings a wide breadth of knowledge and expertise to his new role.
Steve Archer’s illustrious career includes serving as the Director of Golf at the historic Capital City Club in Atlanta, Georgia from 2014 to 2024. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in hosting prestigious events such as the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, the World Golf Championship, the NCAA Men’s Division I Golf Championship, and the centennial Georgia Amateur. His leadership extended beyond the club as he served on the Georgia PGA Board of Directors from 2017 to 2021, holding the position of Education Chair.
Prior to his time at the Capital City Club, Archer served as the Director of Golf and General Manager at Frederica Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia from 2007 to 2014. Under his guidance, Frederica Golf Club hosted esteemed tournaments such as the Southeastern Conference Men’s Championship, the Fazio Cup, and the Jones Cup.
Before his tenure at Frederica Golf Club, Steve Archer held notable positions at Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey and Quail Valley Golf Club in Vero Beach, Florida. His dedication and contributions to the industry were recognized with prestigious awards such as the Bill Strausbaugh Award from the South Florida PGA Chapter in 2003 and the South Florida PGA Section in 2004.
