Golf Canada Opens Talon Links, a New Public Putting Park, Designed & Built by Himalayas Golf

June 29, 2026

Innovative Caledon facility blends tradition, sustainability, and community to welcome a new generation of golfers

Caledon, Ontario   — On the heels of the 2026 RBC Canadian Open, Himalayas Golf and Golf Canada have officially opened Talon Links, a groundbreaking public Putting Park at Golf Canada’s new Caledon headquarters. Designed and built by Himalayas Golf, the free, inclusive facility is a deliberate effort to make golf more accessible to the public while lowering the traditional barriers to entry.

With roughly 6 million Canadians currently participating in the sport, off-course golf facilities have become vital entry points. Talon Links bridges the gap between alternative golf and the traditional game, packing strategic architecture into a community-centric footprint

Created for players of all ages and abilities, Talon Links provides a welcoming space where newcomers can discover golf, families can enjoy the sport together, and experienced players can develop their skills in a relaxed environment.

“We’re calling it a community Putting Park for a reason,” explains Grant Fraser, Project Manager at Golf Canada, “because it will be open to the public, to our community and friends that live here in Caledon. No Charge, parking is provided, simply come in with your putter, a ball and enjoy your time here.”

A visitor enjoying the course with her daughter and grandson shared how Talon Links creates a unique family experience: “I heard about it and thought my grandson will absolutely love this. We’ve done mini-putt before but this isn’t that. It feels…real.”

Golf Course Architect Paul Jansen of Himalayas Golf, describes Talon Links, “I can’t think of anything else like this in the world. This is inspired by some of the best courses in the world and to have this available for everyone to play is so important. And we’re right beside TPC Toronto, they can look over and say, ‘wow, I’d love to play that one day.’”

Talon Links will also serve as a central hosing point for First Tee, a youth development program by Golf Canada that introduces kids to golf.

Talon Links at a Glance

  • 18-hole public Putting Park designed for players of all ages and skill levels
  • Free public access
  • Family-friendly experience
  • Central hosting point for First Tee, Golf Canada’s youth development program
  • Sustainable design featuring artificial turf that reduces water use, maintenance requirements, and pesticide applications
  • Historic recreation of Nick Taylor’s iconic 72-foot winning putt from the 2023 RBC Canadian Open

The final hole at Talon Links pays tribute to one of the most memorable moments in Canadian golf history. Visitors can test their skills and attempt to recreate the putt that helped Nick Taylor become the first Canadian winner of the RBC Canadian Open in 69 years.

With a focus on accessibility, sustainability, and community connection, Talon Links demonstrates how golf can continue to evolve beyond traditional course boundaries and become part of everyday community spaces.

Whether picking up a club for the first time or refining a short game, visitors are invited to experience Talon Links and discover the game in a new way.
