San Diego, CA— The U.S. Am Tour and Golf Digest have announced a multi-year partnership to expand the country’s most popular and respected amateur golf tour. This new relationship will deliver an enhanced U.S. Am Tour product by combining Golf Digest’s unparalleled audience, reach, and content with the fastest growing amateur golf Tour that caters to golfers of all ages and skill levels.
Under the terms of the partnership, Golf Digest will leverage its industry-leading multichannel marketing reach to raise awareness of the U.S. Am Tour and drive new registrations at the local, regional and national levels. Each month, Golf Digest reaches millions of golf fans and players through both print and digital platforms. This will enable the U.S. Am Tour to grow beyond the 40,000+ tournament rounds completed by over 7,000 members in approximately 600 tournaments held nationwide during the 2021-22 season.
The U.S. Am Tour already boasts a strong roster of tournament sites at Golf Digest ranked venues including TPC Sawgrass, Arcadia Bluffs, Streamsong (Red), and PGA National, and this partnership will provide the Tour access to even more of America’s Greatest Private and Public Courses.
Both new and existing U.S. Am Tour members will also receive special access to Golf Digest Schools, where they can improve their game by tapping into a library of over 800 videos and exclusive lessons from Butch Harmon, David Leadbeter, Tiger Woods and more. Golf Digest will also lead business-to-consumer sales that present opportunities for brands to engage with this powerful audience and activate at tournaments throughout the year.
“We are thrilled to partner with the largest digital golf media business in the U.S,” said Joe Wagner, Director of the U.S. Am Tour. “As we look to accelerate our growth, awareness, and access to the best golf facilities in the U.S. there can be no better partner than Golf Digest – the world’s No. 1 golf media brand. This relationship will strengthen our growing organization and elevate our Tour and brand. Most importantly it will add and create value to our biggest asset which is our growing membership comprised of passionate, core golfers who enjoy unparalleled competitive experiences at excellent venues.”
“We’ve been seeking a path for Golf Digest to participate in the amateur tournament space in a meaningful way for quite some time,” said Chris Reynolds, General Manager of Golf Digest. “We believe this partnership with the U.S. Am Tour represents a unique opportunity to do just that. We’ll leverage our collective brand equity, industry relationships, and understanding of golfers’ needs to both expand on the success of the 2021-22 U.S. Am Tour Season and diversify the offering of amateur competitions in the coming years.”
