Move Signals Plan to Deliver New, Collaborative Platform for Golf Coaches
Wayne, PA, – Golf Genius Software (GGS) announced today that it has acquired ProTeam Golf, LLC, a start-up focused on the development of a collaborative platform for coaches and their player-clients. This new platform will integrate information generated from a wide range of data sources, such as launch monitors, on-course stats trackers, and instructional videos in order to assist coaches in their mission to improve and accelerate player development.
George Hansen, Founder and CEO of ProTeam Golf, has joined Golf Genius as Director of Business Development. He will lead product management for coaching and have further responsibility for evaluating new business opportunities.
ProTeam Golf has benefitted from a long and productive relationship with the Amateur Golf Alliance (AGA), a non-profit dedicated to promotion of the amateur game. In recognition of the AGA’s contribution to ProTeam Golf and Golf Genius’ endorsement of the AGA’s mission, the two organizations have agreed to support each other, including AGA utilization of Golf Genius Tournament Management software for the Concession Cup and other AGA competitions. Mr. Hansen will be joining the Board of the AGA in an advisory position.
Mike Zisman, co-CEO of Golf Genius stated: “With 38 PGA professionals on our staff and a software development team with a decade of experience building great software for tournament management, WHS handicapping and golf shop operations, I think we’re uniquely positioned to help PGA professionals evolve their relationship with players from teaching to coaching. Our strategy is to transform the traditional transaction-based approach to a persistent customer relationship model that is consulting-oriented and subscription-based. George’s deep market knowledge and wealth of relationships developed through his association with the AGA will clearly help us deliver on our strategy. We are delighted that he has joined our senior management team.”
Alan Fadel, AGA’s Founder and Chairman added: “We are pleased that George Hansen and Golf Genius have teamed up to extend and implement George’s vision. In particular, we look forward to working with Golf Genius to support our competitive amateurs and mid-amateurs through further research into player development models and tools.”
George Hansen, ProTeam Golf founder and CEO commented “I couldn’t be happier joining Golf Genius in order to develop our shared vision for technology-enabled player development. With proven capabilities in software development and a strong sales and support team, I am confident we will successfully bring to market a product that will greatly enhance a coach’s ability to help their player-clients achieve long term positive results in an economic, efficient and mutually enjoyable manner.”
