Golf Industry Show Silent Auction raises $123,037
Proceeds benefit the Environmental Institute for Golf
Lawrence, Kan. – The 2019 Golf Industry Show Silent Auction, conducted in February, raised $123, 037 to benefit the Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG), the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA).
While the 2019 Golf Industry Show took place Feb. 2-7 in San Diego, the Silent Auction continued online on www.BiddingForGood.com until Feb. 18. A total of 348 items were donated to the auction, which ranged from course accessories to irrigation products to autographed memorabilia. The 2019 auction total increased by $14,000 over 2018.
“Through the generous donations of our industry partners and others, the Silent Auction is able to offer hundreds of items at a fraction of the retail cost,” GCSAA CEO Rhett Evans said. “Superintendents and others get significant savings while raising funds for the EIFG.
Proceeds from the auction support programs and tools that are core to the EIFG – research, education and advocacy – for the benefit of golf course management professionals, golf facilities and the game.
The most popular item sold was a Club Car Carryall 502 utility vehicle, which received the most bids in the auction and sold for $9,205.
