GOLF PERFORMANCE CENTER ANNOUNCES YEAR-END AWARDS
Orwicz and Kennon earn scholarships to GPC Junior Academy
Ridgefield, Conn., – Max Orwicz from New Canaan, Conn. and Elias Kennon from Old Greenwhich, Conn., earned the most prestigious awards presented by the Golf Performance Center (GPC) in Ridgefield, Conn. — The Foster Cup and Ouimet Cup. Both winners will receive a scholarship to the Golf Performance Center’s Junior Academy.
Orwicz, a 17 year-old senior at New Cannan High School, earned the Foster Cup trophy. During the year Orwicz earned five top-five finishes in Foster Cup events. Kennon, 14, is an Old Greenwhich, Conn. resident and a freshman at Green Farms Academy in Westport, Conn. He earned the Ouimet Cup Championship. Kennon won three tournaments, including the Hartford Junior Open at Wintonberry Hills and NJPGA Shore Classic at Suneagles, and had three top-five Ouimet Cup finishes.
“Max and Elias worked very hard to win these championships,” said PGA Professional Roger Knick, Founder and CEO of the Golf Performance Center. “They have very bright futures in the game and we look forward to helping them achieve their goals.”
The Foster and Oiumet Cup Series are year-long competitions during which junior golfers accumulate points as they compete for a scholarship for the current Academy year. Points are earned through high performance in GPC Academy eligible events, academic performance, community service, overall leadership and commitment to the founding principles of GPC.

GPC Junior Academy coaches develop a long-term plan for academic and athletic success while holding all student athletes accountable to their development. coaching programs are designed with an emphasis on fundamental movement skills, from beginner golfers to juniors aspiring to play competitively. The Player Developmental System and Score (PDS) is an ongoing skills assessment conducted four times per year to evaluate the development of an athlete’s physical prowess and golf skill.
