San Juan Capistrano, CA – We are excited to announce our latest episode of the GolfCast podcast, featuring PGA Professional and SCGA President, Nikki Gatch. Nikki has an extensive background in the golf industry, specifically in Southern California, as a PGA Professional. In 2015, Gatch was elected as the first female to the SCGA Board of Directors and moved on to become the first female president of the SCGA in October 2021. Recently, she served as the PGA of America Player Development Regional Manager and is a former Junior Golf Director at the SCGPA. With her vast experience and passion for the game, Gatch will be promoted from her current role as COO to CEO of the SCPGA in the next year. Gatch has loved the game of golf ever since she could walk and played for the women’s golf team at Oklahoma State University where she earned a degree in Journalism/Broadcasting.
In this episode, Nikki discusses her journey with the SCGA, current priorities for the Association, distinguishing between the SCGA and SCPGA, and Association events in 2022 and beyond. She highlights the fact that while many of the SCGA’s members initially joined to establish a Handicap Index®, the 123-year-old, association offers many other member benefits including events for social golfers and championship participants, partner discounts, the award-winning FORE Magazine and digital, social and online communications to engage with its membership. Additionally, she speaks of the importance of SCGA Junior, which offers personal growth opportunities through golf with Player & Youth Development programs and discounted green and range fees. Active members are also eligible for the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation’s Scholarship Program, helping juniors further their education.
