Tempe, AZ – It started as a simple WordPress blog on January 8, 2018. Paul Liberatore, an attorney by day and avid golfer on weekends, started a blog where he talked about and reviewed golf equipment and gear in his attempt to become a better golfer. Three years later, that blog has evolved and grown exponentially to become a content rich, consumer friendly website, GolfersAuthority.com.
Golfers Authority provides golfers product reviews, buyer guides, tips, and advice that is designed to help players improve their game. The company’s scoring rubicon is based on innovation, performance, design/sound/feel and value. “I was tired of all of the noise in the golf industry and not being able to find products that helped my game,” said Liberatore.
Golfers Authority’s message resonated with the golf community and has taken off like a rocket:
- By September of 2018, Golfer’s Authority was generating over 31,000 unique visitors/monthly in organic traffic
- By August of 2019, they were getting 72,000 visitors/monthly
- By August of 2020, 175,000 visitors monthly
According to Liberatore, Golfers Authority treats everyone the same – big brand or small brand – it does not matter. The company doesn’t accept payment in order to give products a better review or to highlight it in one of its buyer guides. To date, the company has worked with more than 110 brands and has more than 600 articles on its site.
“We don’t make our interaction with a brand a transaction,” said Liberatore. “I look at golf brands more from the perspective of the decision-maker I am working with. It’s more about the relationship. I believe that’s what’s helped Golfers Authority establish credibility and grow so quickly.”
Golfers Authority has developed some unique and rich content including its Buyer Guides, What’s in the Bag, Product Reviews, Tips and more than 250 hours of video content. This has helped Golfers Authority establish a strong social media audience with more than 90,000 followers among its entire team on Instagram alone.
Despite COVID19 and the unexpected shut down in the golf industry, Golfers Authority continued to grow over the past months producing content for golfers starving for a way to stay connected to the game and the industry. In addition, the website was updated and redesigned to pull real-time pricing data in its buyers guide from 17 different retailers allowing consumers to always find the best price.
In May of 2020, Liberatore also released his Behind the Golf Brand Podcast, whereby Paul interviews his friends as he calls them, founders and decision makers, on how they started their golf brands. With only 15 episodes he is averaging between 100-150 downloads per episode. Golfers Authority will be expanding its original video content to feature product reviews, unboxing videos, top 10 videos, course vlogs, and more. The company is on track to hit one million-page views this year.
