ORLANDO, Fla. – Golfers from multiple countries around the globe today can find out which public-access golf courses their peers have determined as the best to play with the release of six international ranking lists of Golfers’ Choice 2025 found exclusively on GolfPass.
Relied on by golfers for its user-generated golf course reviews and expert travel content, GolfPass reveals the highly anticipated Golfers’ Choice lists starting in January to recognize top courses as determined by recreational golfers who shared hundreds of thousands of reviews the previous year through NBC Sports Next’s leading online tee-time service, GolfNow. The international lists include: Canada, Great Britain & Ireland, Ireland & Northern Ireland, England, Wales, and Scotland.
“The global influence of GolfPass comes to life with these lists,” said Jason Scott Deegan, managing editor of GolfPass. “Golf is more popular than ever around the world, so we look forward to pushing for more international growth in the future.”
The six international lists have been created to shine a spotlight on golf courses throughout the world for both golfers within those countries and golfers who love to travel. In Europe, GolfPass has separated England, Wales and Scotland into their own rankings, while also creating an overarching Great Britain and Ireland ranking that highlights the highest-rated courses of Scotland, Wales, England, Northern Ireland and Ireland. The Northern Ireland and Ireland list includes all the highest-rated courses from the entire “Emerald Isle.” Canada rounds out the international lists.
In February, Golfers’ Choice 2025 revealed the best public and resort courses in Mexico, Australia and Puerto Rico – three destinations that were currently enjoying their peak season.
Other previously revealed Golfers’ Choice lists so far in 2025 have included the Top 50 courses in America; and Category Lists among U.S. courses, including “Most Improved,” “Layout,” “Staff Friendliness,” “Course Conditions,” and more; and the best public courses in every state, except Alaska.
Unlike golf course rankings published by industry insiders who have access to golf courses the public may never have the opportunity to play, the Golfers’ Choice lists are totally consumer-driven – by recreational golfers, for recreational golfers. Ages, handicaps and budgets of golfers using the website run the gamut, so the millions of reviews accumulated by GolfPass and GolfNow showcase the golf course characteristics that are the most important to avid golfers across the country in any given year.
With golf’s popularity at an all-time high, this year’s lists continue to shine a spotlight on the game’s best playgrounds for everyday golfers. More than 3,300 courses received at least one review among the more than 280,000 collected by GolfNow in 2024.
